Early Career & RPG Maker Legacy

Before entering the industry professionally, Daisuke Shiiba composed several of the default MIDI tracks for ASCII’s RPG Maker 2003 game creation engine. These pieces became iconic among aspiring developers, shaping the musical identity of countless fan-made RPGs around the world.

Nintendo SPD Era (2005–2013)

In 2005, Shiiba joined Nintendo SPD, where he worked as a composer and sound designer on a range of projects. During his Nintendo years, Shiiba contributed to titles such as Tomodachi Collection, English Training, Fossil Fighters, and Swapnote, demonstrating his ability to enhance games across multiple genres and audiences.

Freelance Composer & Expanding Career (2013–Today)

In 2013, Daisuke Shiiba left Nintendo to become a freelance composer. Since then, he has worked across PC, console, and mobile platforms, creating distinctive soundtracks for indie titles such as Principia Perfectus, Economicity, and the critically acclaimed World for Two (together with HAFU-HAFU ODE-N), which later received multiple soundtrack releases including a vinyl edition.

Shiiba has also collaborated with Square Enix, contributing arrangements and production support to the Final Fantasy I–VI Pixel Remaster series. His work includes arrangements for Final Fantasy I–VI, the special Final Fantasy VI Timelapse Remix, and contributions to Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin as well as Final Fantasy XI – Prime Memories.
